Can I Eat Before My Dentist Appointment?
Most of us brush our teeth before visiting the dentist, but what else should (or shouldn't) we do before an appointment? What about eating? Should you or shouldn't you? This...
Have you been thinking about upgrading your smile? If the time is right, we’d love to talk to you about your personal options. But choosing cosmetic treatment is based on more than just the changes you’d like to make. Your preferences, dental anxiety, and needs all play a role in determining the right cosmetic path.
Most patients are seeking something that offers results without making serious demands on their time or their teeth. Sound too good to be true? It’s not – contemporary cosmetic technology allows us to provide non-invasive treatment that shows impressive results. No longer do patients have to make sacrifices to see smile makeovers. Below, we’ve detailed a few of the ways you can improve your smile – stress-free.
Dental veneers create new external surfaces for teeth, changing their strength and appearances. Because veneers have to fit over natural teeth, the tooth structure often needs to be filed down to create room. Advances in veneer technology have created a new kind of patient experience. LUMINEERS are contact lens-thin veneers that take tooth prep out of the procedure. They fit over entire natural teeth, reducing the need for drilling, anesthesia, or temporaries. And the results are absolutely gorgeous.
Dental crowns are incredible restorations that rebuild structure and help improve tooth function. But receiving crowns typically requires multiple appointments, with temporaries worn between them. The CEREC system allows Dr. Hoffman and our lab team to fabricate crowns within our own office, during a single appointment. We’ll prep your teeth, take impressions, create a digital model, and then craft your crowns. You’ll have new teeth in place within one day.
Tooth bonding is an excellent way to make big changes without big compromises. Bonding employs dental composite, a tooth-colored resin that is malleable and customizable. The composite comes in a wide range of colors, and will be matched perfectly to your teeth. Once you’re in the dental chair, Dr. Hoffman will prepare the area (if necessary – because composite is easily molded, it’s simple to put in place without tooth reduction). He’ll then shape the composite and bond it in place. And that’s it – you’re done!
Bonding lasts for years and resolves the following aesthetic (and functional) concerns:
Unlike the other treatments we’ve mentioned, whitening changes only the shade of your teeth, rather than the structure. But whitening’s results shouldn’t be discounted because of their simplicity. A brighter smile makes a big impact on your entire appearance. It makes your teeth and your face look younger, healthier, and well-kept. It communicates a certain level of personal care and personal pride.
Better yet, whiter teeth actually improve confidence, leading patients to smile more frequently. Showing off your whitened teeth makes you come across as friendlier and socially adept. It can even have positive effects on your personal life.
Still unsure as to which form of cosmetic dentistry is right for you? A consultation with Dr. Hoffman will shed some light on the best dental choice. Schedule yours to set up a one-on-one conversation. Dr. Hoffman will take your health, the aesthetics of your smile, and your personal preferences into account. The cosmetic process will please you, and you’ll end up with your ideal smile. We think that’s a win-win situation.
